How it works
Seven steps. Two plugs.
- 01
Open the case. Unclip the lid strap, take out the dish (it lives in the lid). Pop the kickstand, or slide it onto the pipe. Point it at open sky (about a 110° cone — no trees, no barn roof).
- 02
Plug the round DISH connector into DISH on the handle end of the case until it clicks. Cap stays clipped to the cable.
- 03
Plug power: either the locking black POWER cable into a wall / generator (GFCI is built into that cable), or the red/black 12 V cable into the EcoFlow car socket (the cigarette one — not the yellow solar socket). If you plug both, 12 V wins. That is correct. The yellow XT60 is solar in only. Until the kit USB-C board is installed, you must use the AC cable to start the gateway.
- 04
Leave the lid open unless it is raining. Wait until the small screen in the case shows a check, about 2 minutes.
- 05
Guest Wi-Fi is the QR on the next card. Scan it. You are online.
- 06
Event kits only: plant the white outdoor antenna on the telescoping pole, raise it, plug the locking green network cable into LAN 3 / PoE on the case and into the antenna. Aim the face of the antenna at the crowd. The green cable is 5 m — leave slack at the foot of the pole.
- 07
The battery (if you have one) stays on the ground next to the case. Never put it in the case.
Tear down / weather
- Hot day: lid cracked or fully open. Do not bake a closed black case in the sun.
- Rain: lid closed, unused port caps on. Guest Wi-Fi still works near the case; the outdoor antenna (Event) is the crowd radio.
- Staff Ethernet: LAN 1 and LAN 2 on the handle end. Laptops, POS, access point extras.
- Do not unplug DISH by pulling the cable. Twist the ring.
- Do not use the yellow solar connector on the battery as power out.
- Pack: dish in the lid, strap on, kickstand in the lid pocket, pole collapsed in its base slot (or strapped to the handle if this kit’s pole is the outside accessory), caps on, lid latched. Roll it. You are done. Do not lay the case on the handle-end connectors.
Guest SSID is Outpost-Guest. Staff is Outpost-Staff. Staff PSK is not on the public card.
Local Priority is required if guests who are not the account holder use the Wi-Fi. Roam 100/300 GB is for the account holder’s own devices / family only. Plan card: onboarding. Guest rules: AUP.
